Reveal
The Terminator:
TV in the bunker reveal
A nice use of a reveal was made in The Terminator that caught my eye. There is a horrible war between humans and machines going on. We venture down into the bunkers where humans live in horrible misery. Suddenly we see 2 people watching TV and wonder how this can be. This is where the reveal occurs. The TV set that they are watching no longer has a picture tube, but is actually filled with burning wood giving them essential heat. This reveal had a surprising semi-comic effect that I found very effective.
